THE GOOD

  • Style & function-forward
  • Four-way stretch & sweat-wicking material
  • High compression creates full support for C/D cups
  • Removable cups provided

THE BAD

  • Tight to put on and take off
  • Snug fit on skin can create chaffing during a long run

THE VERDICT

It’s not often that a bra can be used by C/D cups for low, moderate, and high-impact activities and have a stylish appeal. But the Saucony Impulse Bra Top is highly functional with fun design details. It fits tightly, so a wearer who doesn’t like a lot of compression may find the bra too constricting.

FULL REVIEW

COMFORT
The Impulse Bra Top is very tight fitting which keeps C/D cups supported, but the bra can also press against the skin and create irritation for some wearers.

FIT/MOBILITY
Once a wearer gets the bra in place it won’t move around much and it keeps a chest completely in place. The wide rib cage band holds in the upper torso for a wrapped feeling, and flat seams on the interior of the bra help to reduce chaffing.

SUPPORT
This Impulse Bra fits tightly, and bra-to-body compression is key with it, so once a wearer gets it in place over her chest, it will hold C/D cups for running and high-impact activities.

BREATHABILITY
Sweat-wicking and lightweight, the Impulse Bra Top kept the tester’s temperature balanced through a 10-mile run on the coast of California. The bra has a longer fit so it can be worn on its own or with a tank over the top.

STYLE/DESIGN
The strappy back of the Impulse Bra Top makes it a statement on its own or with open back tanks. The bra has a mid-cut on the chest so it’s flattering but not too revealing.

How We Tested It

The bras in this test were used for three months while running in both warm and cold weather conditions. Time spent wearing each bra and running ranged from short 20 minute interval sessions to more casual fun runs, to trail and road running races. The tester has a size D cup.
