About Dave Thibodeau

Dave is a veteran world traveler who reviews gear for extended adventures through multiple climates and countries, and specializes in wear that works equally well backpacking, at the beach, or in the boardroom. His travels have taken him on journeys through Nepalese mountains and monasteries, Scottish castles, Bosnian war zones, Mayan ruins, Malecon discotheques, and Philippine beaches. Most recently, he was seen associating with Snow snow monkeys, Todaiji priests, and businessmen in Japan.

When not writing for the Gear Institute, Dave provides strategic consulting for Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft and Chase, and is a volunteer for both 350.org and the Sierra Club. He resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
