A climber, runner, snowboarder, and backpacker, Billy Brown lives with his wife in Northern California. Living next door to Mt. Shasta, the Sacramento River and a network of singletrack trails gives Billy ample opportunity to test gear for a variety of publications.

Billy puts puts GPS watches, ultraviolet filters, helmet cameras, and the like through rigorous testing on a regular basis for Wired Magazine and Wired.com. He also contributes to Backpacker Magazine, Activejunky.com, GearJunkie.com and TheGearcaster.com.
